Dr. Mike Baker
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Baker was born in Saint Paul in 1973 and grew up on the family farm just north of Ashton. On the farm he gained experience in milking cows, raising cattle, hogs, chickens, turkeys, and even buffalo. He attended Catholic school in Ashton and Saint Paul, and then graduated from High School in Loup City. From there he extended his knowledge in animal agriculture at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science. In 2000, he graduated from Kansas State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and began his employment at the St. Paul Veterinary Clinic. He and his wife Judi are blessed with four children, Marissa, Kaleb, Layne, and Jessa. They enjoy being close to family, life on the farm, fishing, and a variety of sports. |
Dr. Tracy Hadenfeldt
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Tracy Hadenfeldt grew up on her family’s farm outside of Cairo, NE. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2006. In 2010, she graduated from Iowa State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She joined St. Paul Vet Clinic in 2017 after practicing in Wisconsin and Iowa. Her practice interests include bovine reproduction/embryo transfer, cow/calf production medicine and companion animal medicine and surgery. Tracey and Nolan have two children, William and Mackenzie who keep them both very busy and entertained. Her interests outside of her job include spending time with her family, farming and raising cattle, gardening, running and enjoying the outdoors. |
Dr. Barrett Huneke
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Barrett grew up on family farm near Wilber, NE. There they raised beef, dairy and horses. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln receiving his B.S. then attended the 2+2 program through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Iowa State University for Veterinary school, graduating in 2016. Barrett and his wife Karla have a son Briggs, two Australian Shepherds – Loot & Buck, two Quarter Horses – Tuffy & Biscuit, and a small herd of cows. Dr. Dan Nielsen (retired)
Retired as of January 1st, 2020
Dr. Dan Nielsen was born and raised in St. Paul. He attended Kansas State University where he received his B.S. and DVM degrees graduating in 1983. He and his wife Mary Jo are parents to 3 boys, 2 girls and at present 8 grandchildren. Outside of work he enjoys golf, gardening and cooking. |
